Years Flying Balloons - 16

When you are not flying, what do you enjoy doing?

I enjoy spending time with my family and scuba diving with my husband.

Why did you become a pilot?

I got hooked when I first started crewing for a friend of mine. I was always eager to help with the balloon and learn all that I could. I enjoyed every minute of studying and learning how to fly a balloon.

What do you find is the most challenging about flying a hot air balloon?

Weather is the most challenging part of flying. Balloons need to have just the right weather to fly safely. As a pilot, I spend a lot of time analyzing multiple forecasts and making decisions about when it is safe to fly.

Short description of something interesting that ballooning has allowed you to do?

Ballooning has allowed me to travel and make friends.

What do you most want the public to know/understand about hot air balloons and flying them?

Flying in hot air balloons is such a peaceful experience. It always fills me with such joy.
